Do I need a visa to visit Vietnam?
It depends on your passport. Citizens of about 40 countries can enter visa-free for 14 to 90 days — including 45 days for Germany, France, the UK, Japan and South Korea, and 30 days for most ASEAN countries. Everyone else can apply online for an e-visa of up to 90 days at evisa.gov.vn.
How much does a Vietnam e-Visa cost?
The government fee is USD $25 for a single-entry e-visa and USD $50 for multiple entry, valid for up to 90 days. Apply only at the official portal, evisa.gov.vn — look-alike sites charge more for the same visa.
How long can I stay in Vietnam on a tourist visa?
An e-visa is valid for up to 90 days; leave by the end date printed on it. Visa-free stays run 14 to 90 days depending on your passport, counted from the day you enter.
Can I extend my Vietnam visa?
Not an e-visa: it cannot be extended inside Vietnam. To stay longer, leave and enter again on a new visa, or change visa type through a sponsor such as an employer or school, who applies for you.
What is the Vietnam visa exemption list?
45 days for Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the UK, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland (any purpose, until March 2028); 45 days for tourism for Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland (until August 2028); 30 days for most ASEAN countries, 21 for the Philippines, 14 for Brunei, and 90 for Chile and Panama.
