Nha Trang is a beach city with a large tourist economy and far less English-language price data than Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City. That makes honesty about the evidence more important here: most figures below come from aggregators and blogs, and the list of what we could not verify is longer than for the bigger cities.

The short answer

For a single person, ExpatLife (Nov 2026) puts a comfortable month at $600–$1,000, another guide (2025) at $500–$950, and Nomads.com estimates a nomad cost of about $1,179. We found no credible three-tier split and no credible couple budget. Rent depends heavily on area and season: high season runs November to April, and low-season rents fall 20–30%.

USD amounts are approximate conversions at roughly 25,000–26,200 VND per dollar. Most published figures are expat blogs and crowd-sourced averages, not official statistics, so treat ranges as a guide and check current prices before you commit.

Rent

Most of these ranges are VietnamSpot’s (Jul 2026), a Russian-oriented blog, so treat them as indicative. ExpatLife’s totals look like modelled estimates rather than surveys. Numbeo’s figure rests on 26 contributors.

Specific to Nha Trang

Rent follows the tourist season
High season is November to April; rents fall 20–30% in the low season from May to October. The best time to search is September–October (VietnamSpot, Jul 2026).
Rainy months
Rain is heaviest September to November and the rainy months run April to December; January to March is driest (Nomads.com, Nov 2026). This is later than the usual “October–December” framing.
A Russian-speaking economy
Beachfront shops, pharmacies and tour offices carry Cyrillic signs and menus are often Vietnamese, English and Russian. Tuoi Tre reports Russian tourists returning in greater numbers (May 2025) and a shortage of Russian-speaking guides, with the Russian peak running April to October. We found no price data for Russian-oriented businesses.

What we could not verify

We looked for these and found no reliable published figure, so we left them out rather than guess:

  • Rents specific to Vinhomes Marina and Hon Chong.
  • Confirmation of the electricity tariff against an official EVN page.
  • GP and dentist prices, and consultation fees at Family Medical Practice and the Khanh Hoa General Hospital international department.
  • Whether serious medical cases are routinely referred to Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Fees at named international schools (NTIS, Vinschool, Bright Futures).
  • Dive and boat-trip seasonality, and Reddit-based expat experience.
  • A credible couple budget and a clean cheap / mid / comfortable split.
  • The exchange rate: figures use about 26,000 VND per dollar from July 2026.

Electricity tariffs change; check the current schedule on evn.com.vn before relying on a monthly estimate.
